$ terraform apply → 4 years pass → nobody remembers why it exists
CI/CD creates systems.
We safely close them.
Roughly 29% of cloud spend is waste, and orphaned environments are a double-digit share of it. Every FinOps tool can find the corpses. Nobody safely buries them — because deletion without evidence, owners and rollback is how careers end. Decommissioning-as-Code is that missing pipeline.
candidate found → evidence collected → owner + dependencies confirmed → quarantine → observation & rollback window → controlled removal → residual scan → verified savings, on the record
The rule we won't break: the first product is read-only / non-production-only. Your credentials execute removals; ours never can. A startup asking for broad production-delete rights is a startup you should throw out of the building.
Where we start
Abandoned preview and test environments — the safest, most common, most obviously dead tier. Then, with partners: cross-cloud quarantine, decommissioning pull requests, dependency evidence, API retirement, data disposition, legacy shutdown — each with a verified-savings record your finance team can cite.
We're forming a founding design-partner group: five platform/FinOps teams at cloud-native companies who'll trade honest feedback for free read-only scans and first access.
